Respect the old ones

Discussions have been going on recently where new users of the Game Maker Community has shown a total lack of knowledge and respect for the old "legends".

I'll quote myself from a post in the Game Maker community where I asked the new ones to:

";Don't forget that Mark Overmars isn't the only, nor the first, to write about Game Maker. Already at version four Allen Cheung and Carl Gustaffson wrote one long essay each:

Carl Gustaffson's essay: Beginner's Guide to Game Maker programming

Allen Cheungs': Good GML programming

Carl Gustaffson is probably one of the best Game Maker users ever, in all areas. Those of you who have played Dog Fight knows he is an excellent graphic artist as well as a great programmer."

I started to use Game Maker at the version 4.3, shortly before 5.0 was released when we were still at the old EZ boards. Since I have been an active Game Maker user since then I know that there are a lot of profiles who has lately not been very active with publishing... but it is an impossibility that these talents has just suddenly forgot about Game Maker and all of their skills.

A lot of those legends are global moderators now, and they are still around although they often don't boast a lot. So next time you are about to say something like "Yourself is the best" - remember that there are a lot of people who might be better and that you should never point out any specific members to "be the best".
